Bowl-a-Rammmmmaaaaaa - November 17th

Bowling it is people (again I know - you'd think we'd be getting good at it by now)

Loafer - Jason
JustLary - Gerry (duh)
G Man - Mark
Duathmon - James
Hussy - Sherry (thanks Chris)

So things just weren't going well for me - where are those blow up things that go in the gutters when you need them?

James gives me pointers on how to throw.

Soon after - I FINALLY get a strike - that one's for you Kimby (the only one I got out of the two games we played)

I have NO idea what these boys were thinking.

Another Regina Trip - November 10, 11 & 12th, 2006

Howdy Boys & Girls,
Friday November 10th, we once again headed down south to where there is no snow and the weather is warm. I'm SO not kidding! You should see the snow we have and Regina has nothing.

Friday November 10th
Chris' band, Chemical Horizon had a show at the German Club so off we went.

Gerry & Kim decided they looked good as Germans

Saturday November 11th
As the girls went shopping (Kim, Jen, Tammy, Kodie & I) the boys did boy stuff. Saturday night we all went to Jen & Jay's for supper. Tyson & Kodie started out the night all shy but in no time at all Tyson was wonder "who turned these rockets on". (ok - so maybe you had to be there).

Jen, Jay & Little Mister (still hiding out)

Late Saturday night - back at the Fraser house...

Brewster gives Kim a high five

Alot of Guitar Hero was played (best game ever) - shhh I need to concentrate

Rockstar Brewster decided Auntie Sherry's flash on the camera was MUCH too bright

Sunday November 12th
So Sunday came around and we'd be leaving right after the Roughriders lost. (arg.) It was a good weekend - thanks for the visit all you southerners!

Cook for the Cure

Yesterday was my Mama's birthday and guess what I did...after work I drove home to surprise her! Boy was she surprised! Mom held a dessert buffet at her restaurant yesterday for "Cook for the Cure" in which you could partake in the DELICIOUS dessert buffet and donate to Breast Cancer.

It's Baby and Fondue Time - Friday October 20th

Friday early we headed to Regina. I got to see little mister's ultrasound (Jen & Jay's baby). SO COOL! He's looking healthy and we got to see his little heart just a going. His little nose and kissy lips - well kissy lips until the doctor confirmed he was a boy - then he seemed to be frowning after that. I think little mister felt violated...

Friday night we did a fondue at Kim & Chris' place. Kim & Chris, Jen & Jay, Gerry, James and I were all there (oh and so were Scotty & Brewster). Anything you can imagine to fondue - I think we did.

Jen, Me & Kim - oh and Chris' fondue arm

Kim & Gerry go for the cheese fondue...
Jay watches...

Me & Kimby

Jen & Me chatting it up

Chris eats little shrimp - open wider...

More food? James gets serious about fonduing with the hat on backward...

How Great My Mama Is

Did I ever tell you how great my Mama is? As I was talking to her last night I was telling her of Mr. Attitude at the grocery store (cashier) Friday night who told me I could have got a turkey if I would have had a coupon since I spent so much money - just so I knew - for next time. Arg. ANYWAY...I got the free turkey still (talk to customer service) and I told her we could use it for Thanksgiving but I guess she already has one. Oh well I thought - I'll just cook it some other time but what does she suggest "why don't you bring it home and I will cook it for you". :D Oh mama - you spoil me.

Another story to add to that - one night I was back home for the weekend while living in Moose Jaw going to school. Money was tight but Kim, Aaron & I decided to go to PA. What did I do but lock my keys in my car in PA. What did I not have? Spare key. What did I have to do? Call a guy to pop open my lock and charge me $25.00 for 3 seconds worth of work. Ouch. That's a lot of money for a student. What did my mama do? When I left Sunday made sure I had at least $25.00 worth of groceries to cover what I had to pay. :D That lady's something special.

Today's Happenings

So often I wonder how some days can just be so crazy and rediculous and others - well, ok, they all seem to be crazy and rediculous but some days I wonder if the only human contact some people get is while they are in the office. Ever think that?

Getting a Cup of Coffee
Sounds simple right? That's all I wanted to do - get a cup of coffee. I wasn't even going out to get a cup of coffee. I walked over to the office coffee machine, took a cup out of the cupboard and proceeded to fill my cup. I see a guy making decaf - let's call him...Phil. As Phil makes his decaf I hear from another person "so what IS the purpose of decaf anyway?" Beats me, I thought...the only reason I savour the taste is to know it will kick in some sort of energy boost that I left back in the 80's somewhere. And this is when it happened - a comment from the decaf guy...Phil. He says something like "I don't know why decaf - I suppose it's like using birth control when you are having sex." I think I paused for say...half a second and added, "you don't want to know how many kids if..." nevermind. I just went back to my desk with my coffee.

My Brother-in-law
So most of you know my brother in law, Chris. Funny guy, entertaining and I've even heard someone call him sex-ay (not saying who). So today as we chatted, he informed me that I should really talk to my sister about her taste in music. I thought - that girl has always been into country (blah). But Chris informed me that he found my sister downloading songs. He tells me "I was ok with country, I'll let that slide, but last night I found her downloading Nelly (the rapper, not Furtado) and Eminem. I'm scared Sherry. What if she starts cookin' nothing but fried chicken everynight and starts wearing nothing but track suits" Oh that boy slays me - I guess I'll have to have a chat with Kim and see what she thinks. I'll make sure she hasn't stocked their freezer with chicken parts ready to fry up and when we go shopping, I'll be sure to take her to non tracksuit selling stores. :D

So Tired from Work

Think if I count up all of my overtime hours that can count towards time put in before retirement? I've got to be getting close...

Back to work I go...well I guess I brought the files with me so into the home office I go to work (again). So sorry to all of you that I haven't talked to - just been too busy with work stuff but as noted above, I'm probably soon close to retirement so I will visit with you then.

The Weekend

On the weekend I went home to do a few things and visit the parents.

Friday, September 15, 2006
I tried to leave at noon but of course got stuck at work later than I thought. I just went alone as James couldn't get off work early at all. I stopped at Princess Auto to pick up an angle drill for Dad. It was POURING outside so every farmer in Saskatchewan was at Princess Auto hanging out. I finally got on the road (I went through P.A.) Dad and I started working on our car for a bit. The plan was to do the front brakes and rotors, spark plugs and an oil change. Oh did I mention that the bleeder screw broke off on the one side and it was all rusted so a PA trip was in store for Saturday.

Saturday, September 16, 2006
Woke up and had breakfast with Mom & Dad (that was nice). Mom & I started making MORE salsa. (yes, I know this is my third double batch). Dad came in and we needed to get to PA before noon to get another part he needed for a van he was working on. (Darn those busted off bolts in that water pump). Oh well - gave me an excuse to buy dad lunch and Tim Hortons. Yummers. Back home we kept working on the car and had a hugely delicious supper of chicken, potatoes & corn. Thanks Mama.

Sunday, September 17, 2006
Got up, breakfast with the parents again then finished off the car with dad and packed up. (Of course Mom sent me off with a care package (chocolate zucchini cake, salsa and a frozen chicken). I went off to Birch Hills to visit the inlaws for a bit. Boy the longer I sat there and visited the more my Hastings care package grew too...carrot salad, dill pickles, soup, pizza stuff, new Hastings honey, and fish. James I hit the jackpot and I'm coming home. :D

Oh by the way did I say how much it rained? Dad's rain guage showed from Wednesday overnight to Sunday morning, 5 INCHES of rain! You thought the Hagen road was crappy before? Think of 2 foot potholes full of water so you can't see they are 6 or 8 inches deep. Yipes.

This is now what the road between Hagen & Birch Hills
looks like - a secondary highway!

YIPES!

Pretty Appliances

What? You want to SEE what my new appliances look like? OK...a warning to you they are pretty.

Waterline to be connected soon for the fridge then we will have cold
filtered water and an icemaker!

Salsa Time

So last night was salsa cooking and canning night. Ooooh what fun! Lots of work but oooh it is so going to be good! Thanks to Carol & Grant for a bunch of the veggies etc! Your jars are coming.

Getting the jars ready to go...

That's one big pot of salsa (on the new stove). Of course I took the picture too close so you can't SEE the new stove...

Oh don't those look good?

Sherry Theories...

Today my chair kept rolling to the right. I have a few theories in why it was doing this:
1 - the floor under my office chair is sloped
2 - the right side of my body is heavier than the left
3 - isn't that the way the earth spins - it must be pulling me that way

Another thought:
Ever go into certain stores in the mall and it's like you are completely invisible? What's the big idea? Why does this happen to me? Why can I go into a store and have the staff go out of their way to say hello to other shoppers only to ignore me. Is it because I look young? Because I look like I don't really need anything or I'm not going to spend money there? Well guess what - if you don't talk to me - I'm not buying stuff in your store! So there!

Tonight James and I chopped and chopped up veggies for making salsa! Cooking and canning it comes tomorrow night.

Old Man Newfie

The rest of the weekend we had a party for Gerry the old newfie that I work with. Man is he old. We sat outside at the turtle pool, bbq'd some supper then went bowling.

Gerry's b.day cake (of course it's from Dairy Queen)

Bye Bye Tammy :(

On Friday we had a girly party for Tammy as she's moving away. :(
At the end of the month, Tammy, her hubby and kids are moving to Regina.
No worries - I come to Regina lots!
Here are a few pics from Friday night at Earls.
