New Years - Welcome 2007!

This year was our turn to go to Regina for New Years. We didn't have any big plans this year but we still had lots of fun!

December 30th, 2006
Kim, Chris, James & I feasted. James & Chris had crab while Kim & I had steak. Kim and I are HOT! Our hubby's are sooo lucky.

December 31st, 2006

Kim and I stopped for a quick visit to see Tammy & Regan's new house. We chatted for a bit with Tammy & Kodie as the boys (Regan & Tyson) went out. Have you ever seen such a little cutie in your ENTIRE life.

December 31st, 2006 - January 1st, 2007

For New Years we headed over to Jen & Jay's oh sorry, Jen, Jay, Ethan & Scotty's house. Jen and Jay have baby Ethan now and he's so cute and little! There was Kim, Chris and Brewster, Winia and Carlin, Jen, Jay, Ethan and Scotty, and James and I! We ate food from Western Pizza and played Nintendo Wii (oh and some Guitar Hero).

The Great Blizzard of 2007 (oh no - it's only January 10th)

So right now Saskatoon and surrounding areas are currently in a blizzard. Not just a little snow - I'm talking about a full on blizzard. I couldn't see down the street even. After lunch Dawn at work came around telling people they could go home if they felt like they should.

This is what it looked like when we left work about 1:45pm this afternoon. In the second picture you can't even tell we are at the bottom of the bridge. In the third picture - we are on the bridge! The fourth pictures shows all the kids waiting to be picked up outside of Walter Murray School.

As of 3:00 today, the City of Saskatoon had closed roads IN the city such as Circle Drive bridge & Circle drive between Millar (north end) and College (by the uni). A ton of other roads were shut down - most of them I think were by open areas and areas by fields due to the snow blowing (67km/hr winds). Needless to say all the highways have been closed as well.

As of 5:00 today, more roads were closed in the city. I doubt we can get our car out of the driveway. Guess we'll see in the morning if I can get to work or not.

When I got home, I decided to bundle up and maybe shovel a bit so James could get into the driveway when he got home. The snow was light and fluffy but talk about a TON of it. Mostly I think I was just playing in the snow (but I really did do some shovelling).

Look at all that snow and blowing - oh I even built a snowman - no not the newfie, he was helping me carry my stuff into the house. I named my little snowman Max but those lips look pretty feminine so perhaps we will call it Maxine. Sadly, Maxine can not be seen anymore as she is COMPLETELY covered up by all the snow that has continued to fall and blow across our yard. Take care everyone - and keep warm!

Visiting with a Friends...

Tim & Rachael (Schartner) Onsrud moved back to Birch Hills so we had a chance for a visit while we were home for Christmas. What a good visit and I hope that we can see more of each other now that they are living back here!

This past weekend we were over at Mark & Amanda's for some visiting and Monopoly. Amanda and I are looking gorgeous as always. (please note NEW Indianapolis Colts sweater - go Peyton!)

Christmas 2006 - at the Olson's - December 25th, 2006

As tradition, we headed out to my Mom & Dad's for Christmas Day. Kim & Chris were here this year as was Aaron. I was spoiled again AND even more food. How great it was to spend time with the wonderful family we have.

So I guess I don't have any pictures of me at Christmas but Kim had her camera so maybe I'll get some pictures from her.

There sure is some cool people around...

Christmas 2006 - at the Hastings - December 24th, 2006

As every year, we spend Christmas Eve at the Hastings house. Nan joined us again and this year Bob & Bernice were there as well. There was WAY too much food as usual (and no - I didn't partake in the Lutefisk which is a traditional norweigian cod fish soaked in lye - I know sounds delicious - insert scrunch up nose face here.) I stuck to the lefse (oh now THAT is some Norweigian heritage I appreciate!)

Jeffrey, Regan & Nan play crib (and Nan wins!)

Regan sleeps and Carol opens a gift

Everyone in the living room!

How much do my brother-in-laws (Jeffrey & Regan) like me?

A gift from Jeffrey, Regan and P.E.I. What ever could it be...
OK - there was some money in there too (or ortherwise known as a gift certificate for anystore I choose) That present sure was entertaining to open. :D Thanks boys.
